BHARATANATYAM PERFORMANCE LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have the pleasure of inviting all conference delegates to join us for the Plenary Session of the 36 th LAWASIA Conference 2023 at the Grand Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel. Participants will be greeted with a Bharatanatyam dance performance by Rukmini Vijayakumar, who has been described by the New York Times as ‘not just engaging but also authoritative’, with ‘burning eyes that repeatedly catch the observer’s breath’. Rukmini is the artistic director of Raadha Kalpa Dance Company, and the director of Lshva, a creative space for artists in the heart of Bangalore. A graduate of the Boston Conservatory and recipient of several grants and awards, Rukmini is the founder of the Raadha Kalpa method, an educational system for Bharatanatyam that is based on the idea of neutrality. Her process of creation is both traditional and contemporary. She has performed as a soloist at global venues such as the Jacob’s Pillow festival (USA), Drive East NYC, and the Korzo Theater (Netherlands), and recently played the goddess of love in ‘Sukanya’, produced by the Royal Opera house in London. BHARATANATYAM PERFORMANCE LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have the pleasure of inviting all conference delegates to join us for the Second Plenary Session of the 36th LAWASIA Conference 2023 at the Grand Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel. The session will be inaugurated with a Bharatanatyam dance performance by the dynamic sisters, Preethi Kumar and Neethi Kumar, who are practicing advocates. The sisters have been disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Smt. Poornima Ashok, Director Nrityanjali, Bengaluru, for the past 20 years. Preethi and Neethi have done their Bharathanatyam Rangapravesha in the year 2010 and 2014 respectively, and have several notable performances to their credit. In 2023 alone, the talented duo has performed at the Hampi Utsav (Karnataka); Ponni Kala Kendra (Summer Dance Festival, Trichy); Sri Ramanavami, Sri Sringeri Shankara Math, Malleshwaram; and Swathanthrostsava 2023 by Kannada and Culture Department, Government of Karnataka, in addition to their duet thematic production, Nrithya Bandhavya.
