WELCOME RECEPTION & DINNER

LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have the great pleasure to invite all conference delegates to join us for a Welcome Dinner at the Grand Ballroom at the Four Seasons hotel. Guests will be treated to an energetic percussion performance by the Ghatam Udupa Collective, led by Ghatam Giridhar Udupa, an award-winning musician, who has regaled world audiences with his musical acumen at venues such as the United Nations, Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House among many others. Diners will also be able to enjoy the outdoor Garden terrace at the Four Seasons hotel with sweeping rooftop views of the city.

BHARATANATYAM PERFORMANCE

LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have the pleasure of inviting all conference delegates to join us for the Plenary Session of the 36 th LAWASIA Conference 2023 at the Grand Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel. Participants will be greeted with a Bharatanatyam dance performance by Rukmini Vijayakumar, who has been described by the New York Times as ‘not just engaging but also authoritative’, with ‘burning eyes that repeatedly catch the observer’s breath’. Rukmini is the artistic director of Raadha Kalpa Dance Company, and the director of Lshva, a creative space for artists in the heart of Bangalore. A graduate of the Boston Conservatory and recipient of several grants and awards, Rukmini is the founder of the Raadha Kalpa method, an educational system for Bharatanatyam that is based on the idea of neutrality. Her process of creation is both traditional and contemporary. She has performed as a soloist at global venues such as the Jacob’s Pillow festival (USA), Drive East NYC, and the Korzo Theater (Netherlands), and recently played the goddess of love in ‘Sukanya’, produced by the Royal Opera house in London.  Rukmini is also a writer (author of Finding Shiva selected for the New York literary festival by IAAC) and actor in theatre and films.

A MUSICAL EVENING

LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India are delighted to welcome all conference delegates to a fun filled evening followed by Dinner at the Grand ballroom and Garden Terrace at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bengaluru. Guests will be treated to an unforgettable musical performance by Dr Prakash Sontakke, a two-time Grammy award winning artist and the recipient of numerous musical accolades including an Independent World music award.

Dr Prakash Sontakke will be accompanied by a team of five artists for an evening of fusion music that promises to be an absolute delight. Diners will also be able to enjoy the pleasant weather that Bengaluru, the garden city of India is known for, amidst a venue that boasts a beautiful terrace with sweeping views of the city.

GALA DINNER

LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have the great pleasure to invite all conference delegates and accompanying guests to join us for a Gala Dinner at Anantya, located in the grounds of the Bangalore Palace, a short distance from the Four Seasons Hotel. Guests can expect to let their hair down and groove to the beats of popular English tunes from across the ages in fun filled performance by the Fernandes Band! Diners will also be able to enjoy the greenery that Bengaluru, the garden city of India is known for, amidst a venue that boasts of sprawling gardens and spectacular greenery.

Note: Shuttle buses will be arranged for guests staying at the Four Seasons hotel or the Shangri La to travel to and from the venue for the Gala dinner.

BHARATANATYAM PERFORMANCE

LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have the pleasure of inviting all conference delegates to join us for the Second Plenary Session of the 36th LAWASIA Conference 2023 at the Grand Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel. The session will be inaugurated with a Bharatanatyam dance performance by the dynamic sisters, Preethi Kumar and Neethi Kumar, who are practicing advocates. The sisters have been disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Smt. Poornima Ashok, Director Nrityanjali, Bengaluru, for the past 20 years. Preethi and Neethi have done their Bharathanatyam Rangapravesha in the year 2010 and 2014 respectively, and have several notable performances to their credit. In 2023 alone, the talented duo has performed at the Hampi Utsav (Karnataka); Ponni Kala Kendra (Summer Dance Festival, Trichy); Sri Ramanavami, Sri Sringeri Shankara Math, Malleshwaram; and Swathanthrostsava 2023 by Kannada and Culture Department, Government of Karnataka, in addition to their duet thematic production, Nrithya Bandhavya.
